We’re so glad you could take this interview and we’re so excited to be able to learn all things YOU! Let’s start from the beginning! When did you fall for fashion?                                                                                              My love of fashion started when I was a little girl!  My mother had a fashion boutique and I would go with her to the fashion marts to buy clothes.  I remember loving being in her shop and learning about the clothes and fashion.  I love putting stylish outfits together!

Would you wear the very first outfit you put together now?                                                                                              I think yes! I believe in timeless fashion and I’ve always had an eye for staples for a woman’s wardrobe that never go out of style.  Like pairing a blazer with a great pair of jeans or a touch of animal print with a classic black dress.

What is the best part of creating your look?                                                                                                                        The best part of creating my look is having fun doing it.  I have my closet organized for seasons and colors.  So I always start out with what color I want to wear and I head straight to that section of my closet and start pairing textures and looks based on what I have going on that day.  I love pairing accessories and shoes with the right outfit and I always keep in mind transitional pieces.  Day to night and office to happy hour!

Do you like a theme when it comes to putting together a look?                                                                                   Yes definitely! I think themes are a great way to show off your style with a little extra flare.  I love boyfriend jeans with a simple white tee paired with a great pair of sneakers for a casual look.  Or gold accessories (earrings, statement belt and accents on shoes) for a night out with my husband.  I think I always look at fashion as a theme and that’s what I help my audience with on my blog Petite Miami Girl. When I talk about fashion, I always reference how to incorporate everything I promote into a wearable lookbook!

What is the most consistent advice you have to give when trying a new look?                                                        My advice for trying a new look is one of two things.  Either stay in the color pallet you are comfortable with and experiment with different items.  Or stay in the genre you feel comfortable with and experiment with different color/prints or accents.  For instance, if you love loungewear, don’t ditch it.  Maybe try to spice it up with a pop of color for your shoes and a great hat or sweatshirt color that you wouldn’t normally wear.  Paired together, those accents can really tie in the ‘newness’ and create a ‘look’ instead of just adding one item that may feel awkward or out of place.

Are there any challenges to coming up with THE vision you know is just perfect for yourself but might not be ready to take the leap?                                                                                                                                                                Sure there are challenges all the time.  I think the main challenge is to have awareness around wanting to branch out and define your style. Often we have all of the pieces right in front of us, and just need guidance and vision on how to bring it all together.

How important is branding when it comes to style?                                                                                                      When you say branding, I think you mean brands.  I think for many of us, having our few staple brands ads a foundation to our style and our taste.  And then sprinkling in other items from ‘off brands’ or ‘no name brands’ doesn’t feel so disconnected.  I have my staples that I absolutely love like Petal and Pup, Kendra Scott jewelry. Sarah Flint Shoes, Vitacup Coffee, Real Good Foods, City Beauty and Tarte. Brands I cannot live without.  And then I have branded retailers that I love to shop from Target and Sephora that I love too.  Once we have our foundation, it lends itself to our style!

Is there a style that is a NO GO every time?                                                                                                                              I think too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.  So I’d say over-doing it would be my ‘NO GO’.  Cheetah print is great as a body suit under a tailored blazer with great jeans and heels.  But don’t go overboard with earrings, a bracelet, handbag and shoes too!  Use those accessories points as a way to accent the Cheetah print bodysuit, not overpower it!

What is a trend that is always a YES?!                                                                                                                                    Little black dress is a timeless trend that never goes away!  If you have 3 or 4 little black dresses that are versatile, you can go from brunch to zoom meeting to date night in a snap!

How do you set yourself apart to keep your uniqueness?                                                                                               My uniqueness is me really.  I strive to be relatable to my audience, honest with my product reviews and authentic with my product representation.  You will never see me pushing products just for the sake of collaboration.  I truly believe in the products I represent and that, I think, is very unique for today’s fashion influencer.  Many influencers become quite diluted with their collab offerings and eventually turns into white noise for their audience.  The brands I promote are what I use every week and I stand behind them.

Where does your confidence come from?                                                                                                                              I’d say definitely my mother and my family.  I couldn’t have been raised by a more solid family and I am so grateful that my mom always supported my goals in fashion.  That was a special bond that we shared throughout her life.  If it wasn’t for her, I would never have pursued this career as a successful fashion influencer!

What is the most daring decision you have made so far in your career?                                                                    I’d say hiring an Influencer Business Coach was the most daring decision I’ve made in my career as a fashion influencer.  She helped me realize that being an influencer is a business and she helped me structure a strategy to refine my business to successfully land profitable collabs with brands I love!

What is the most daring style you’ve done?                                                                                                                               I’d say I’m pretty fearless when it comes to

Is there anything in your closet you’re updating right now that you would like to pass on to others?              My closet is full of everything! I actively donate a lot of my lightly used and unused collaboration and gifted items to my local community to support those in need.  I believe that giving back is the best way to fill another’s cup!

How can people follow your fashion journey?                                                                                                                        I am actively on Instagram as @petitemiamigirl and I have a blog as well https://petitemiamigirl.com/ where I send weekly fashion trends, try-on trends, recipes, and of course the latest discount codes for over 40 popular sites.  I do all the work so my audience doesn’t have to!  I am also active on the Liketoknow.it app as @petitemiamigirl and I post daily fashion, home, jewelry and tech trends for my followers.

Any upcoming projects you want to share before you go!?                                                                                                I have just launched my own photo Lightroom presets that anyone can use!  They are literally one click magic for quick photo editing and they are perfect for bloggers, influencers and content creators.  You can shop the drop here https://petitemiamigirl.com/shop/

Last but not least, leave us with your best style advice you’ve received EVER.                                                      My best fashion advice to anyone is that fashion is what we wear, but a smile is what people will always remember.  And when you look good, you feel good.  When you feel good you smile. And a smile is the most beautiful thing you can wear!

Thank you! SHINE ON AND STAY STYLISH!
